POSITION: Procurement Manager

The ROCKWOOL Group’s main business area is building insulation, providing thermal comfort along with fire safety and acoustical comfort for all types of buildings.

This is the Role:

The Procurement Manager reports to the North American Procurement manager and will be based out of our Head Office in Milton, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an economical supply strategy for ROCKWOOL’s packaging requirements throughout North America. You are also responsible for working towards achieving Group Sourcing and Procurement’s annual KPI’s and supplier management goals, ensuring targets are met or exceeded on an annual basis.

Key Activities:

  • Manage and develop a “Best in Class” supplier management program including professional negotiating and final contract coverage. 
  • Focus on cost savings ideas, projects and programs that deliver year over year savings and product enhancements. Monitor and report supplier performance as measured by on time performance, quality and cooperativeness.
  • Provide best in class service to RWNA’s internal customer base 
  • Tender and re-tender packaging requirements as necessary, and negotiate contracts when they are due for renewal.

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel, PP)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related functional area
  • Strong knowledge and experience in NA Packaging industry.
  • Drive, commitment, self-motivation and high energy.
  • Ability to work under pressure & good communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, tendering processes, supplier selection, supplier management, including relationship development with both suppliers and direct reports. 
  • Knowledge of and hands on experience with SAP for material purchases and reporting. 
  • In depth understanding of freight and logistical movement of inbound material as well as overseas logistics
